The National Testing Agency (NTA) is set to conduct the Joint CSIR-UGC NET Examination in June 2025. This examination serves as a gateway for Indian nationals to pursue:

  • Junior Research Fellowship (JRF)
  • Assistant Professorships
  • Doctoral Programs (Ph.D.)

The examination will be administered as a Computer Based Test (CBT).

Eligibility Criteria

Educational QualificationM.Sc. or equivalent degree; 55% marks for General/OBC candidates; 50% marks for SC/ST/PwD candidates. Integrated Course and B.E./B.Tech/B.Pharma and MBBS candidates are also eligible.
Age Limit (as of 01-07-2025) - JRFMaximum 30 years. Relaxations: Up to 5 years for SC/ST/Third gender/PWD and women applicants; 3 years for OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) applicants.

Selection Process

The CSIR NET exam consists of three sections: Part A, Part B, and Part C, with no breaks between them. The exam duration is 3 hours.

Exam Medium

The exam will be held in bilingual i.e. Hindi and English. In case of any ambiguity between Hindi and English version due to translation, English version would be treated as final.
